Join MAGPIES owner and passionate pie-maker Maggie McDowell at her shop on Saturday November 1st 2025 from 3:30-5:30pm to learn the old-fashioned art of pie-making—with a modern twist. On a bucolic country corner in DeLancey, NY, you’ll receive hands-on guidance rolling, crimping, and making buttery, flaky pie dough from scratch. You’ll incorporate the best local produce the season and area have to offer (apples for November!)—with lots of grandma-style tips and tricks along the way—as you make your own 5” pie. Classes are capped at 10 people, light refreshments will be provided, and you’ll depart with your warm-from-the-oven personal pie and a recipe card for all-butter pie dough and a seasonal filling! This class is especially useful if you’re gearing up to make your own pies at Thanksgiving and want to feel comfortable and confident in the kitchen ;)
